I’ve been doing quite a bit of figure drawing lately and all these drawings are from 2010- the present. I’ve tightened up my style quite a bit and I am working really hard on the more subtle details of the figure. I have been using these new life drawings for inspiration on some prints and other projects that are more abstract. These drawings are a bit more descriptive than I usually work, and I often think of them as a road map of sorts. Some of the prints I have made from these drawings are on my Figurative Art page.
All of these drawings were done from live models with charcoal and Conte crayon on Stonehenge paper which is pretty smooth and shows details well. Most of these were 5-10 minute poses with a few slightly longer ones. They are treated to reduce smearing with a traditional technique of spraying skim milk fixative over the charcoal.

- Eek, a mouse!
- I love this pose and how the figure describes the surrounding space
