Work From ‘Garage Sale’ at Uptown Body and Fender

The show at Uptown Body and Fender last Friday was a big success. Uptown is a swanky auto shop in a big beautiful building. They move out the cars for events and the space is really fantastic. Our hostess was marvelous and the space was packed. The other artists in the show really did a lot of footwork and handed out 4000 beautifully designed cards. I have a few more pictures of Erik and Linda’s work to add. Thanks to everyone who made it out!

Garage Sale at Uptown Body and Fender

We hung this show last month for a private jazz and wine event. It looked great, but now it’s our turn. We replaced the Christmas wreaths with fresh work from some of our friends, and will have a DJ and a bunch of other cool stuff. It’s free, it’s from 6-9pm, and it’s on 26th street between Telegraph and Broadway in Oakland. Check out links to the artists’ websites below.

Bacchinae at Zza’s Wine Bar

This is sure to be a crazy, fun, and super packed art show with 14 artists organized by Obi Kaufmann. This is the last show Obi is organizing at Zza’s. I’ll have one piece in this show and will be there for sure. Many thanks to Mr. Kaufmann for all his work promoting the art scene in Oakland. Garage Sale at Uptown Body and Fender

We are having a little preview of this show tonight at Uptown Body and Fender in Oakland. The event is sponsored by Second Saturday Salon and the musical guest is Kenny Washington with friends. Artists included in the preview show are David Polka, thomas christopher haag, Erik Bakke, Linda Bakke, and myself. Tickets for the musical event tonight are $30 and available at the door. The First Friday Art Murmur show is free and will have a handful of additional pieces, since we will have a little more room to spread out.

Butterflies in the Art in a Box Headquarters

New piece in the Art in a Box Headquarters



I am the featured Art in a Box artist in the AIB Headquarters at the Compound Gallery in Oakland. This is a pic of the main piece I am showing. Currently it is 600+ hand printed, hand cut out butterflies pinned to a hemp covered panel. I am adding a few hundred more today, installing a little wall piece, and I’ll have some framed butterflies, and singles for sale. The opening coincides with Katherine Sherwood‘s opening entitled “He Charmers,” and the Exquisite-Corpse show in the Artists Gallery, also at the Compound. Reception is from 6-9 pm on Saturday.
